The preschool was set up over 40 years ago by a group of parents keen to provide community based sessional day care for under-fives in the village. We are a registered charity, operated by a committee of parents and are subject to regular inspections by OFSTED.
Although not directly affiliated to the church, we used to operate from St Mary’s Church Hall before relocating to within the grounds of Cherry Tree Primary School, Hardy Road, Lymm in the summer of 2017.
We accept children from the age of 2 and a half years old and a maximum of 26 children can attend at one time. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) which sets out the standards for learning and development of children under five. St Mary’s Preschool also has excellent links with all the local primary schools to ensure transition is as smooth as possible when children move up to “big” school!
All parents are welcome to attend the monthly committee meetings and we keep everyone up to date via regular newsletters, our news page on this website, and our Facebook page. We encourage parents to get involved, by helping during sessions, participating in fundraising events or by joining the committee. The fees we charge cover our basic running costs so we fundraise to buy new equipment for the children.
We hope that you and your child will love being part of the St Mary’s family.
